Grain Receiving, Storage and Cleaning
Grain is received and stored in bins which can hold about 500,000 bushels total. Wheat with wide variations in baking qualities is stored and blended to make mixes for each of our products. The building in the left of the top photo is the "cleaning house" where the wheat is carefully rid of all impurities. Clean wheat is stored in hopper bins shown to the left of the cleaning house. Our nine-stage cleaning flow also includes separations by size, magnetic properties, friction and behavior of particles in air streams.

Grain is received, stored (far right), and cleaned to prepare for conditioning.

The de-stoner removes stones, glass, and any material with higher density than wheat.

The indent separator removes oats, weed seeds and other impurities of different length or shape than wheat kernels.
